Parking, Traffic and Transportation

Resources for Commuters

Portland has a pretty solid public transportation network, and Tri-Met does a pretty good job keeping their website up-to-date with their routes and schedules. Here are direct links to some popular routes that run through the Humboldt Neighborhood.

Buses
  • Line 4 (North and South on Williams and Vancouver Aves)
  • Line 44 (North and South on Mississippi and Albina)
  • Line 6 (North and South on MLK)
  • Line 72 – (East and West on Alberta and Killingsworth)

Forest and Washington Park Express Shuttle

The Forest & Washington Park Express Shuttle is a free pilot transit service operated by Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R). During summer 2026, Express Shuttle buses will make regular stops in neighborhoods in East, North, and Northeast Portland and Forest Park and Washington Park, two popular city parks that are hard to get to because of their locations and limited public transit options. The buses will provide a free way for people to get to these parks from areas closer to home. The buses will also take people back to neighborhood stops to return home after visiting the parks.

Ride the Express Shuttle to explore Forest Park and Washington Park this summer. To find things to do in Forest Park and in Washington Park, check the Activities Calendar. Information and activities will be available in multiple languages. All buses are ADA accessible.

Our closest stop is at Peninsula Park Community Center and leaves at 8:30am, 10:30am, 12:40pm, and 2:25pm every Friday and Saturday. Check out the website for more info and detailed maps.

Greenways and Bike Lanes for Cyclists
  • N. Going St (East of N. Vancouver) and N. Blandena St (West of N. Vancouver)
  • N. Vancouver Ave (Southbound) and N. Williams Ave (Northbound)
    • Note: beware of delivery drivers stopping without warning and/or double-parking in the bike lanes on these streets!

Resources for Drivers

Driving can be a hassle. Parking can be too. Here are some resources to let the City know about various traffic-related nuisances.

  • Report potholes, sinkholes or other road hazards here
  • Report illegally parked and/or abandoned vehicles here
  • Report non-urgent traffic safety concerns here

Prosper Portland Small Business Repair/Restore Grants

These small grants (up to $25,000) are available for local businesses who have experienced vandalism or break-ins and are in need of repair. This is a reimbursement program, so businesses need to pay for the repair upfront and submit a request for reimbursement. Check out more details on the website here.

Community Reporting

The City of Portland relies on complaint-based enforcement systems. This means the responsibility is on residents to report what they’re seeing and experiencing.

  • Report graffiti here
  • Report non-urgent traffic safety concerns here
  • Report dumped garbage here
  • Report drug-dealing activity here
  • Report a campsite here
